The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced the temporary closure of the Vakabuli Timber Bridge in Lautoka to carry out urgent repairs and improvements. This closure is scheduled from 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, to 7:00 am on Monday, September 29, 2025.
In a bid to minimize disruption and maintain safety, FRA is implementing advance road closure signage to direct motorists through designated detour routes. Drivers will be rerouted via Vakabuli Indian School Road, Drasa Cemetery Road, Vakabuli Village Road, and Main Kings Road. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and exercise caution when traveling near the construction zone.
The temporary closure reflects FRA’s ongoing dedication to enhancing the safety and reliability of regional infrastructure. Similar initiatives by the FRA in other areas have been well-received by communities, who understand that while such repairs may cause temporary inconvenience, they are crucial for ensuring safer and more efficient transportation options in the future. This proactive approach underscores FRA’s commitment to improving road quality and safety for all users.
