Javon Antonio, a promising wide receiver, has been pushing hard for a chance to make it in professional football. Reflecting on their time together at the University of Colorado, fellow player Owens shared, “He’s getting his chance and an opportunity right here to get to the next level. Not the path that he wanted, but I told him just keep fighting, just keep working hard and put the film and put everything on the tape where it needs to be.”
Despite having a challenging outing against the Roughnecks, where Antonio managed to catch two passes for 24 yards but unfortunately fumbled twice, his overall performance in the season has shown potential. Over the course of the season, he has recorded 16 receptions totaling 190 yards. Prior to this season, Antonio had a notable stint at CU, ending up with 17 catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns, with his standout performance being five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown against Arizona State.
After participating in Colorado’s pro day last year without securing an NFL spot, Antonio signed with the Defenders in March, eager for another opportunity to ascend to the top level of the sport. His journey highlights the resilience required in professional sports, and with continued effort, he remains hopeful of achieving his dreams on the field.
