A recent leak from the PlayStation Store has unveiled the upcoming Destiny 2 expansions, Edge of Fate and Renegades, mere hours ahead of Bungie’s official reveal event. Scheduled for May 6 at 9 AM PT, the showcase promises to highlight the new content for the game.
Previously, details about the expansions were hinted at in a Bungie Store listing for the Collector’s Edition. Now, players have encountered advertisements for “Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition” on the PlayStation Store, providing a first glimpse of new characters and weaponry from these expansions.
The leaked advertisement displays six Guardians, each equipped with fresh weapons. Fans were particularly excited to see one Guardian wield a glowing energy sword reminiscent of a lightsaber, alongside another Guardian holding a blaster-style weapon that draws inspiration from Han Solo’s iconic DL-44. This has prompted speculation that Bungie may introduce a brand-new weapon type in the Edge of Fate expansion.
The advertisement clearly features icons for both the Edge of Fate and Renegades expansions, confirming their existence in line with the previous Collector’s Edition leak. The Edge of Fate is set to launch on July 15, 2025, although a release date for Renegades remains unannounced.
While the PlayStation Store leak confirms the expansions’ arrival, pricing details for the Standard or Ultimate Editions are not yet available. However, the Collector’s Edition has been priced at $275 USD with the game and $175 without, including exclusive collectibles such as a detailed statue featuring all three Guardian classes, printed lore materials, and digital bonuses like the soundtrack.
With the official reveal just around the corner, fans are eagerly anticipating more details. The excitement surrounding the new expansions could signal a strong and engaging year of content for Destiny 2, potentially drawing back players who have stepped away from the franchise.
