Derrick Henry’s Record-Breaking Season: How Much Will He Earn Next?

Derrick Henry continues to solidify his status as one of the elite players in football. The Baltimore Ravens running back achieved his second $500,000 performance incentive this season following a successful 1-yard touchdown run on Sunday, bringing his total touchdowns to 15. This milestone not only rewards him financially but also ties him for the franchise record for most touchdowns in a single season alongside Ray Rice and Mark Ingram.

Entering the game with 12 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns, Henry achieved his first incentive after reaching 13 total touchdowns. With six games remaining in the season, he has demonstrated consistent scoring ability, having recorded at least one touchdown in every game thus far.

Henry is also on the verge of reaching another significant milestone of 1,200 rushing yards for the season. He began Week 11 with 1,120 yards and needed just 28 more yards after his touchdown, a target he seems poised to meet given his average of 112 rushing yards per game. Achieving this milestone would make him $1 million richer.

His contract with the Ravens includes additional performance incentives linked to rushing yard totals, including a goal of 1,500 yards and a two-part incentive tied to a Super Bowl win. With more than five games remaining, Henry is well on track to reach the 1,500 rushing yards mark.

The incentives are categorized as not-likely-to-be-earned, allowing them to be applied against the 2025 salary cap rather than the 2024 cap, which provides some financial flexibility for the team.

In addition to these performance incentives, Henry has accomplished significant career milestones, including surpassing 10,000 career rushing yards and 100 rushing touchdowns earlier in the season. He has become just the fifth player in NFL history to achieve this within 125 games.

Additionally, Henry is just one game shy of tying the NFL record for the most games with 150 rushing yards or more, currently at 14, needing just one more to match the legendary Jim Brown.

As the season progresses, Derrick Henry’s pursuit of further milestones and performance incentives not only highlights his incredible talent and work ethic but also brings hope to Ravens fans for a successful season ahead with strong contributions from their star running back.
