Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert are preparing for parenthood, celebrating their impending arrival with a delightful baby shower on November 13 in Los Angeles. The couple, who wed in August 2023, gathered with family and friends at the Cosette Wine Bar + Bottleshop for this special occasion, which was meticulously organized by Derek’s sister Julianne Hough, along with fellow Dancing with the Stars alumni Britt Stewart and Jessica Gee, with assistance from event planner Troy Williams of Simply Troy.
Describing the event as “ethereal” and “dreamy,” Julianne expressed her joy in honoring the couple and their soon-to-be greatest creation. “Hayley and Derek are such a beautiful match. They are the perfect combination of creativity and strength and they give so much love to each other and the people in their lives,” she shared.
As excitement builds, Julianne, who has enjoyed being an aunt to her sisters’ children, eagerly looks forward to welcoming another niece or nephew. “Having Derek, Hayley, and this new little angel living here in [Los Angeles] will be so amazing, and I couldn’t be more excited to spoil the baby rotten!” she said.
Throughout the celebration, the couple and their guests partook in various activities designed to commemorate the occasion. Guests expressed their hopes for the baby through an Intentional Baby Succulent Garden, interacted with kittens from Kitten Rescue LA, wrote encouraging notes on diapers, and played engaging games. Julianne presented the couple with a limited edition illustrated keepsake book of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, crafted as a memento for their family by Andrea Fowler of The Calligraphy Nerd, adding a personal touch to the event.
Both Hayley and Derek were in high spirits, with Hayley donning a bright yellow dress and styled elegantly, embodying the joy of the day. An array of Dancing with the Stars colleagues, including Sasha Farber and Mark Ballas, attended, enhancing the warm atmosphere shared by friends and family.
The happy couple first shared their baby news with a touching video on Instagram back in July, revealing their excitement as Hayley showcased sonogram photos while embracing Derek against a stunning backdrop. The caption of their post captured their feelings perfectly: “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️.”
