Denny’s, the popular diner chain known as “America’s Diner,” is facing backlash from customers following the launch of a Spring Break promotion, which offers an enticing deal of $300 worth of food for just $14.99. The promotion allows holders of a special pass to enjoy a free Everyday Value Slam from March 2 to April 14, along with the opportunity to claim one meal per day throughout the holiday period, while supplies last.

The Everyday Value Slam features a hearty breakfast of two eggs, two Applewood smoked bacon strips or two all-pork sausage links, paired with the choice of two buttermilk pancakes, two slices of brioche French toast, or a biscuit and gravy. However, securing one of the Spring Break passes, which come in the form of a crossbody bag equipped with a unique QR code, has proven challenging for many fans.

Diners have reported difficulties obtaining the limited passes, with numerous complaints surfacing on social media. Some customers noted that they were ready to purchase as soon as the sales opened, only to find the pass already sold out within minutes. Frustrated patrons expressed their disappointment, stating things such as, “It didn’t even pop up to put in the passcode until 2 after and then it said sold out immediately,” and “What good was it when I was on right when it became available and it was already sold out?”

Despite Denny’s warning that the passes would be highly sought after, the overwhelming demand has led to a flurry of negative feedback. Ellie Doty, senior vice president and chief brand officer at Denny’s, emphasized that the Spring Break Pass was designed to offer convenience for customers looking for savings during their trips. She encouraged diners to “buckle up, scan and Slam” while enjoying their meals.

As the promotion unfolds, Denny’s is facing a challenge to address the concerns of disappointed customers. Many have taken to online platforms to express their displeasure and the impact of the limited availability on their families’ plans for the holiday. The diner chain maintains its commitment to providing value and quality dining experiences to customers, but how they respond to this feedback could shape their reputation moving forward.
