Over 200 passengers traveling with Delta Air Lines found themselves stranded in Naples, Italy, after their flight to Atlanta was canceled following more than seven hours of delays. A traveler shared the experience via a TikTok video that sparked considerable attention.
In the clip, the traveler, known as callmemomoney, showed a crowd of passengers outside a local hotel, expressing frustration that Delta had arranged accommodations at a hotel with only 13 available rooms for over 200 people. The travelers were transported there by bus after the flight cancellation, but the situation quickly escalated as Delta’s representatives left many passengers to find their own lodging arrangements.
Delta Air Lines later issued a statement asserting that they had made necessary arrangements for their customers, including transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals during the disruption. The airline encouraged affected passengers to reach out directly for further assistance.
The incident emerged shortly after Delta launched its direct flights between Atlanta and Naples, a new service aimed at tapping into the growing transatlantic travel demand. As noted, the route will operate four times a week, supplementing Delta’s existing service from New York to Naples that began in 2024.
