Eugene Volmer, an experienced long jumper, has praised fellow athlete Deborah Bulai for her active role in fundraising to secure essential sporting equipment for her teammates. Volmer commended Bulai’s commitment to aiding her peers at Bullet Academy United, highlighting her deep passion for the sport.

Bulai, who made headlines by earning a gold medal for Fiji at the 2023 Pacific Games, also serves as a coach at Bullet Academy United. Volmer noted that it is quite uncommon for athletes to spearhead fundraising initiatives, expressing his admiration for Bulai’s selflessness and dedication to supporting others in her field.

“It’s wonderful to see an athlete going out of their way to fundraise and help others,” Volmer stated, underscoring the positive influence such actions can have on the athletic community.

In light of Bulai’s efforts, Volmer is calling on stakeholders and former national representatives to join her cause. Contributions can be made via her GoFundMe page, titled “Throwing for the Future: Support Fiji Athletes.”

This communal spirit reflects a strong sense of unity and dedication among athletes, showcasing their ability to empower each other through generous actions and support. Bulai’s initiative not only aims to enhance the sporting experience for her teammates but also inspires a greater movement towards collaboration and encouragement within the athletic community.
