The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed that the suspect involved in the shooting incident at a CVS store on Emory University’s campus is deceased. The suspected shooter, identified as Patrick Joseph White, opened fire at the CVS on Friday, prompting an immediate alert from the university advising students and staff to “RUN, HIDE, FIGHT” and to avoid the area.
During the press briefing held on Friday evening, Police Chief Darin Schierbaum revealed that the shooter was discovered on the second floor of the CVS, where he had discharged multiple rounds. Although he was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, it remains uncertain whether these injuries were self-inflicted or resulted from police action.
