Two individuals were shot, with one succumbing to his injuries, in a tragic incident that occurred in Humboldt Park on Chicago’s Northwest Side on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities reported that the shooting took place around 1:17 p.m. in the 700 block of N. Spaulding Avenue.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the victims—a 38-year-old man and an 18-year-old man—were in an alley when they were fired upon by four assailants who emerged from a vehicle. The older victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he later died. The younger victim was shot in his left leg and right arm but is reportedly in fair condition after receiving treatment at the same hospital.

At this time, police have not released any details regarding the suspects or their vehicle, nor have they indicated if any arrests have been made. Investigators from the area are actively looking into the case, seeking information that could lead to identifying the offenders.
