Deadliest Jobs in America: Surprising Findings Unveiled

In 2022, there were 5,486 recorded fatal work injuries in the United States, reflecting a 5.7% increase from the previous year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Jobs that involve vehicles or working at heights are among the most hazardous in the U.S., with more than half of work-related deaths in 2022 caused by falls or collisions.

Despite the increase in workplace injuries, high-risk fields have not seen a decline in interest. This is highlighted by findings from Burger Law, a personal injury law firm in St. Louis, which analyzed BLS data to identify the most dangerous jobs in 2022 and their growth potential. Many of these areas are expected to see job growth in the coming years.

Here are some of the most dangerous jobs in the U.S., all of which have fatality rates well above the national average of 3.7 fatalities per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers.
