Behaviour Interactive has officially announced the exciting new crossover chapter for Dead by Daylight, featuring characters from The Walking Dead. This chapter will introduce two of the series’ most iconic figures, Rick Grimes and Michonne, complete with unique perks that enhance their roles in the asymmetrical horror game. Following the recent addition of Five Nights At Freddy’s, Behaviour continues to build on its impressive lineup of game collaborations.

Earlier this year, hints about the crossover began appearing on Dead by Daylight’s roadmap, culminating in the reveal of the phrase “The Ones Who Live.” With this, fans now know Rick and Michonne will join the ranks as survivors, enriching gameplay experiences with their individual strengths.

Rick Grimes enters as a natural leader, possessing three character-specific perks. His first, Apocalyptic Ingenuity, allows him to search chests for items that can convert broken pallets into less sturdy ones, proving his resourcefulness in dire situations. The second perk, Come and Get Me, enables him to render nearby injured survivors silent when he’s crouched and idle after unhooking one, although it comes at the cost of revealing his location to the killer with a scream. Finally, with Teamwork: Toughen Up, Rick can temporarily minimize his grunts, scratch marks, and blood trails if a nearby survivor stuns or blinds the killer.

On the other hand, Michonne brings her own unique skill set, starting with her perk Conviction. This trait activates when healing another survivor, offering a brief moment for instant recovery before the character becomes broken, risking a return to the dying state if not healed promptly. Her last two perks, Last Stand and Teamwork: Throw Down, grant tactical advantages against the killer, including stunning them with fast vaults and providing nearby injured survivors with endurance.

Beyond just character capabilities, this new chapter also showcases impressive map design, featuring iconic locations from The Walking Dead. These will appear in a designated map tile, embodying elements like the infamous first episode’s “Don’t Open Dead Inside” door and the prison.

Players can currently try out Dead by Daylight: The Walking Dead chapter on the Public Test Build (PTB), with a full official launch scheduled for Tuesday, July 29.

For those keen on maximizing their gaming experience, the game includes current codes to redeem in-game rewards, alongside a comprehensive tier list of killers to strategize with.

Overall, this chapter not only enriches the game’s narrative but also promises to invigorate gameplay dynamics with the familiar and beloved faces from The Walking Dead.
