The University of Dayton men’s basketball team wrapped up its exhibition season with an impressive performance, defeating Bowling Green 90-59 on Monday night. The Flyers rallied after trailing at halftime, when they found themselves down 30-27.

The game remained competitive early in the second half, with Bowling Green holding a narrow 43-41 advantage at the 13:24 mark. However, Dayton launched a formidable run, outscoring the Falcons 49-16 in the final stretch of the game.

Leading the charge for Dayton was Javon Bennett, who scored a total of 25 points, 18 of which came in a dominant second half. He was supported by De’Shayne Montgomery, who contributed 16 points, and Ameal L’Etang, who added 15 points. Remarkably, the Flyers netted 63 points in the second half alone and made their final 13 shot attempts, showcasing their offensive prowess.

After briefly trailing in the first half, where BGSU made an 11-point run to take control, Dayton regained momentum with a decisive series of plays. The Flyers executed a 6-0 run, highlighted by a steal and layup from Bryce Heard, to shift the lead in their favor at 47-43.

Their decisive push continued as the Flyers extended their lead to 75-53 with just over four minutes remaining, demonstrating their dominance in the second half. Dayton concluded the exhibition season undefeated, holding a 2-0 record, and will be gearing up for their regular-season opener against Canisius on November 3 at the UD Arena.
