The 2025 Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship kicks off today, featuring matches in the Western and Southern zones, while the Northern zone will host its only game tomorrow. A total of eleven clubs are vying for qualification to the national playoffs scheduled for next week.
In the Western Zone, four teams will compete at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba, while six teams are set to clash at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa, Suva, for the Southern Zone matchups. The Northern Zone will feature a pivotal game on Saturday, with defending champions Labasa’s Northpole facing Taveuni’s Legend FC at the Bocalevu Primary School Ground.
The championship format allows for two teams from the West, three from the South, and one from the North to secure a place in the national playoffs, ultimately determining Fiji’s top club. This year’s tournament holds special significance, as Dayal’s Sawmillers has taken on the role of naming-rights sponsor, bringing renewed enthusiasm to the championship.
The match schedule in Ba includes Rays United battling Star Hospitality Delta Army at 1 PM, followed by Downtown FC against 4R FC at 3 PM. Over in Suva, Lami Rangers will take on Friends United at 1 PM, with Police FC set to challenge Combine Verata FC shortly afterward.
With heightened stakes and fresh sponsorship energizing the competition, football fans can anticipate a thrilling display of talent and skill from clubs across Fiji, as they strive for victory on the field.
