The Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship 2025 final play-offs are set to begin today at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Vatuwaqa, offering teams a chance to compete for a prize pool of $4,000. This tournament is poised to provide an exciting conclusion to what has been an outstanding year for football in Fiji, with significant participation from numerous major districts.

Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf commented on the event, highlighting both the intensity of the competition and the challenges faced by some teams. Notably, several players have signed professional contracts with Bula FC, which may affect their availability for the final rounds of the tournament. However, Yusuf viewed this as a testament to the strength of the development pathway within Fijian football.

The match schedule features two games daily for today, tomorrow, and Saturday. The tournament kicks off today at noon with Friends United taking on Combine Brothers, followed by a match between Ray United FC and Combine Verata at 2 PM.

As the competition progresses, the top-performing teams from each group will advance to the final match, slated for Sunday at 1 PM. The champion of this year’s championship will be awarded $4,000, while the runner-up will receive $1,500, making the stakes high for all competitors.

This annual event not only fosters local talent but also enhances the visibility of Fijian football on the broader stage. Regardless of the challenges presented, the Championship serves to celebrate and promote the passion and potential of Fijian athletes.
