OCEANIA Hospitals has announced the appointment of David Qumivutia as its new chief executive officer, a position he has occupying as an interim leader since August of the previous year. Qumivutia has a long history with the organization, having started his career there as a Pathology Manager back in April 2000. Over the years, he has exhibited exemplary leadership in several roles, including General Manager, Director of Business Development, and Chief Operations Officer.
The hospital recognizes Qumivutia’s extensive contributions and insights, gained from his wealth of experience in both public and private health sectors. In a statement shared on social media, Oceania Hospitals praised his commitment to excellence and maintaining high operational standards, suggesting that his leadership will further enhance the hospital’s efficiency.
“With over 25 years of proven success in the healthcare industry and a passion for innovation, sustainability, and patient care, David is poised to guide Oceania Hospitals into a promising new era of growth and transformation,” the statement declared.
Qumivutia’s academic qualifications also support his leadership position; he possesses a Master of Business Administration and a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of the South Pacific, in addition to a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Tasmania and a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Fiji School of Medicine. His formal appointment as CEO officially commenced on January 28 of this year.
