On Saturday night, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds concluded their triumphant three-night engagement at the ninth annual Dave & Tim Riviera Maya concert event held at Moon Palace in Cancún, Mexico. The dynamic duo captivated the audience with an impressive total of 28 songs performed throughout the weekend, highlighted by their debut cover of Pearl Jam’s “Breathe” and the introduction of a new track called “Making It Great,” featuring fiddler Jake Simpson.

The finale showcased a strong selection from the Dave Matthews Band’s catalog, kicking off with familiar hits like “So Much to Say” and “Granny.” The pair then deviated from this pattern by performing two pieces from Matthews’ solo album, Some Devil, titled “Save Me” and “Oh.” The flow continued with live favorites “Virginia in the Rain,” “Rooftop,” “Lover Lay Down,” and “Space Man,” before debuting their version of Pearl Jam’s “Just Breathe,” a song Matthews has performed solo as recently as August 1, 2025.

Following a solo execution of “Betrayal” by Reynolds, the duo returned with a medley of engaging tracks including “Crush,” “Black and Blue Bird,” “#27,” “Monsters,” and “Jimi Thing.” This segment was enriched by Reynolds’ tribute to Led Zeppelin as he performed a seamless connection of “Ten Years Gone” and “Kashmir.” The night then continued with a heartwarming rendition of “One Sweet World” and “Stay or Leave.”

Jake Simpson, a familiar face from previous Dave Matthews Band performances, joined the stage to contribute his fiddle expertise during a lively set that featured embellishments in classics such as “Warehouse,” “Pig,” and “Ants Marching.” The encore offered another first for the audience as Matthews delighted fans with “Making It Great,” followed by a spirited version of “Tripping Billies” featuring Simpson. The enchanting evening concluded with Matthews’ solo performance of “Some Devil.”

This remarkable event not only celebrated the enduring appeal of Matthews and Reynolds but also highlighted their continuous ability to evolve and engage with their audience through new surprises and collaborative moments. Fans left with memories of a night filled with music that spanned years, illustrating the rich tapestry of their artistic journey.
