His wife, Cici Edmunds, revealed in a heartfelt Facebook post that her husband experienced a significant cardiac event and briefly “died in my arms” before being revived by medical professionals.

Cici detailed the harrowing experience, during which she kept Dave alive by clearing his airways while a nurse performed intensive CPR. Fortunately, after being intubated by doctors, he was brought back to consciousness, though he now faces serious health challenges, including a high risk of another cardiac arrest and signs of brain damage and memory loss.

Throughout this distressing ordeal, Cici expressed the emotional toll it has taken on her, admitting to experiencing PTSD from the traumatic incident. She humbly reached out to fans for their prayers and support, acknowledging the difficult journey that lies ahead for both of them.

Edmunds, born in Cardiff, garnered fame initially as the lead of the blues rock band Love Sculpture, which achieved notable success in the late 1960s. He later enjoyed a fruitful solo career, highlighted by his iconic single “I Hear You Knocking,” which sold over 3 million copies and reached the top of the charts. Throughout the 1970s, he continued to release hits and also ventured into music production, collaborating with several prominent artists such as Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
