Danny Strong Snags Dream Duplex from Andy Cohen in West Village!

Danny Strong, the acclaimed actor and screenwriter known for his roles in “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Gilmore Girls,” is set to become the new owner of Andy Cohen’s vibrant West Village duplex. Although the final sale price has yet to be disclosed, Strong expressed his enthusiasm for the purchase, describing Cohen’s former home as his “dream home.” He and his wife, Caitlin Mehner, are looking forward to the move to accommodate their growing family.

Cohen had listed the distinctive property, a prewar building designed by Bing & Bing, in September 2024 with a final asking price of $12 million. The expansive 3,500-square-foot penthouse features a colorful aesthetic that Cohen cultivated over more than 20 years, working with architect Gordon Kahn and designer Eric Hughes to combine four units into a single, bespoke dwelling. Notable features include 25 large windows overlooking Jackson Square Park, a luxurious primary suite with a fireplace, and a spa-like bathroom. The penthouse’s design includes a striking glass, walnut, and steel staircase connecting two levels, highlighting its unique charm.

Strong’s new abode comes as Cohen shifts his focus to outdoor space, having purchased an $18 million duplex penthouse in the same West Village neighborhood back in 2022. This vibrant area is not only home to Cohen but has also been a residence for other celebrities, such as Jennifer Aniston.

This transition reflects an ongoing trend in New York’s real estate market, where creative professionals seek larger spaces to accommodate their families, while still maintaining a connection to the lively culture of the city. Strong’s excitement about the new home might inspire others to pursue their own real estate dreams in a market that continues to evolve.
