The participation of trans athletes in women’s sports has sparked significant debate, especially during this election year. Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has shared her views on the issue.
In a recent appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Patrick, recognized as one of the most accomplished female racers in American history, voiced her concerns about trans athletes competing alongside biological females. “It’s completely wrong,” she stated, drawing from her own experiences as a woman competing in a male-dominated sport. She emphasized the inherent differences in hormones and physicality between men and women.
In the same interview, Patrick disclosed that she plans to cast her first presidential vote for Donald Trump, whom she described as the “rational, reasonable choice.”
Trump had previously discussed the topic of transgender inclusion in women’s sports during an appearance on Barstool Sports’ “Bussin’ with the Boys.” He remarked on the divisions within the country, addressing issues including open borders and the participation of men in women’s sports, expressing his discontent with the latter. “I’ve seen people really hurt,” he noted, referencing the ongoing debates around gender participation in sports.
He cited the controversy surrounding gold medalists Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting, who became embroiled in a gender identity debate during this year’s Olympics. “The whole thing is ridiculous,” said Trump, reiterating his longstanding opposition to such policies.
Patrick is not alone in her perspective; golfer Lauren Miller recently expressed similar sentiments on OutKick’s “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich.” She shared her belief that Trump is more committed to defending women’s sports than Vice President Kamala Harris, pointing out Trump’s clear stance against men participating in women’s competitions.
Patrick elaborated on her enthusiasm for voting for Trump, describing it as a vote of reason. “I feel like most of all, though, what this country could be if he gets into office, with all the amazing, brilliant people who are supporting him, I feel like it can not only make America great again, but make America greater than it’s ever been.”
