The participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports has sparked considerable debate, particularly during this election year, and former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has shared her perspective on the issue.
Patrick, celebrated as one of the most accomplished women in American racing, appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” and expressed her views on the inclusion of trans athletes in women’s sports. “It’s completely wrong,” she stated, emphasizing her experience as a woman in a predominantly male sport. “A man is just different; their hormones are different, their body is different.”
During the interview, Patrick also revealed that she plans to cast her first presidential vote for Donald Trump, whom she describes as the “rational, reasonable choice.” Trump has openly discussed his stance on transgender participation in women’s sports during a recent appearance on Barstool Sports’ “Bussin’ with the Boys,” where he commented on the divisive nature of the country. “I’ve seen people really hurt,” he remarked, addressing the issue.
He highlighted controversies from this year’s Olympics, citing boxers Imane Khelif and Lin Yu Ting, who won gold medals amid gender disputes. “The whole thing is ridiculous,” he added, reiterating his position on the topic since addressing it at the Republican National Convention in July.
Patrick is not alone in her views, as other athletes share similar sentiments. Golfer Lauren Miller expressed her belief during a discussion on OutKick’s “Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich,” stating that Trump is more committed to protecting women’s sports than Vice President Kamala Harris. “Trump has come forward and said, ‘Men will not play in women’s sports,’” Miller noted, contrasting it with the lack of similar policies from Harris.
Patrick further expressed her passion for voting for Trump, viewing it as a vote for reason and potential progress. “I feel like it can not only make America great again, but make America greater than it’s ever been,” she concluded.
