Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin is anticipated to be sidelined for the remainder of the NHL season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. Coach Glen Gulutzan announced on Tuesday that the 33-year-old would be unavailable for several months following his injury sustained during Monday night’s game against the New York Rangers.
Seguin was hurt in the first period after getting caught up with Rangers defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov at Madison Square Garden. He fell to the ice in visible pain, unable to skate, and required assistance to exit the rink and head to the locker room for evaluation.
Unfortunately, the outlook on Seguin’s condition was not optimistic after further examination, as confirmed by Gulutzan. This injury comes on the heels of a challenging season for Seguin, who missed a significant portion of the previous season due to hip surgery.
The Stars are currently grappling with a series of injuries affecting key players, including Matt Duchene, which could impact their performance as they navigate the remainder of the season. Despite these challenges, there remains hope within the organization that resilience and teamwork will see them through this tough period. The team’s depth will surely be tested, and players will need to step up in Seguin’s absence as they strive to maintain competitiveness in the league.
