Dallas Officer’s Shocking Death: Suspect’s Troubling Social Media Revealed

Dallas police have identified Corey Cobb-Bey as the suspect responsible for the shooting death of Officer Darron Burks and the injury of two others on Thursday night. According to law enforcement, the 30-year-old Cobb-Bey “executed” Officer Burks, 46, while he was seated in his marked police vehicle outside the nonprofit For Oak Cliff. Authorities have stated that there is no indication that Burks and Cobb-Bey were previously acquainted.

Cobb-Bey legally purchased all the firearms involved in the incident. Dallas police are set to release body camera and dash-camera footage from that night next week.

Cobb-Bey’s social media presence has raised concerns, with posts indicating he identifies as a Moorish American National, a group that claims sovereignty and immunity from U.S. laws. Police noted that Cobb-Bey made several troubling posts online, including videos where he confronted officers about their presence and actions.

Despite these posts, Cobb-Bey does not have a violent criminal history. In 2017, he faced charges for providing false information to police after a traffic stop related to an expired registration. During that encounter, he allegedly gave the officers a different name and resisted providing his birthdate by claiming it was private information. His arrest stemmed from the traffic violations, and a subsequent search revealed his true identity through an FBI database.
