The 2025 BMW Dallas Marathon took place this past weekend, showcasing a thrilling array of races, including the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon. Thousands of participants gathered to celebrate this annual running event, which kicked off with the Friday Night Lights Mile followed by the 5K and 10K on Saturday, culminating in the Half and Full Marathons on Sunday.

In the Friday Night Lights Mile, Cael Grotenhuis, aged 22 from Flagstaff, AZ, clocked an impressive time of 4 minutes and 34.4 seconds, securing the top spot among men. For the women, 39-year-old Krystal Quiroga from Dallas set a remarkable pace with a time of 5 minutes and 45.9 seconds.

The 5K race saw young runner Pranav Gehlot, 19 years old from Richardson, TX, lead the men’s division with a time of 16 minutes and 13 seconds. Maya Shariff, a 17-year-old from Plano, TX, topped the women’s field, finishing in 20 minutes and 59 seconds.

In the competitive 10K, Hassan Eissa from Euless, TX, emerged victorious for the men with a strong time of 33 minutes and 10 seconds. Jasmin Muhammad-Graham, at 23 years old from Fort Worth, TX, claimed the women’s title with a finishing time of 41 minutes and 21 seconds.

The Dallas Half Marathon highlighted exceptional performances, with Sergio Mena, 31, from Arlington, TX achieving a time of 1 hour and 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Dakota Popehn, 30, from Duluth, MN, led the women’s division, completing the race in 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 21 seconds.

In the Full Marathon, Steven Fahy from Dallas, TX, showcased his endurance with a winning time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 25 seconds. For the woman’s division, Alauna Carstens, 21, from Olympia, WA, finished strong with a time of 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 50 seconds.

This year’s marathon not only demonstrated the talent and determination of the runners but also fostered a spirit of community and celebration among participants and spectators alike. With such impressive times and performances, the event reinforced its reputation as a premier race in the running calendar, inspiring hope for even greater achievements in future editions.
