Dale Jr. Hits the Track in Luke Combs’ Upcoming Music Video!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently revealed exciting details about his participation in a music video for Luke Combs’ upcoming song, “Back in the Saddle,” which will premiere this Friday. On the latest episode of Dale Jr. Download, Earnhardt shared how he got involved in this unique project that also features NASCAR legend Richard Petty.

Combs reached out to Earnhardt with an invitation to participate in the music video, which they decided to film at Charlotte Motor Speedway. However, due to a lack of available NextGen cars, Earnhardt suggested filming at a short track instead, emphasizing the video’s theme of “comeback” by utilizing late-model stock cars.

Earnhardt expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This will be great to shine a light on grassroots racing, to shine a light on late models.” The video was filmed at Tri-County Motor Speedway, just over an hour from his home. The team prepared two late-model cars for the shoot—one equipped with cameras and another for racing shots, enhancing the production’s visual appeal.

During the shoot, Combs was filmed throughout the venue, including in the grandstand and flagstand, while Earnhardt drove around the track, completing several hard laps. He mentioned his appreciation for the collaborative effort, stating how honored he felt to work alongside Combs and Petty. “I’m thankful that Luke and his team thought of me and Richard and included us in this project. Pretty cool, pretty awesome opportunity,” said Earnhardt, who is eager to see the audience’s reaction to the video.

“Back in the Saddle” showcases Combs’ storytelling talents and has been co-written with Jonathan Singleton and The Brothers Hunt. As a celebrated country music artist from North Carolina, Combs has garnered eight Grammy nominations throughout his career, and this project marks an exciting intersection of country music and NASCAR culture.

This collaboration brings together two beloved figures in American sports and entertainment, highlighting the community spirit of racing and music. Fans can undoubtedly look forward to enjoying this creative blend of talent when the video drops.
