Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have addressed rumors of a split. A representative for Johnson confirmed to Fox News Digital that the couple remains together after seven years of dating.
“The reports are not true,” stated Johnson’s rep. “They are happily together.”
The actress, known for her role in “Madame Web,” and the Coldplay lead singer tend to keep their relationship under wraps. They were last seen together at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK in June, where Johnson supported Martin as his band headlined the event.
An insider shared that despite having experienced ups and downs in their relationship, they are currently “going strong.” The couple began dating in 2017, and in 2020, rumors about their engagement circulated.
Johnson, 34, previously spoke about her low-key yet fulfilling relationship with Martin, 47, stating that their busy work schedules make their private time at home feel special. “We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,” she explained.
When asked about maintaining their privacy, Johnson mentioned that most of their socializing happens at home.
Johnson’s father, actor Don Johnson, has voiced his admiration for Martin, while the singer’s former wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, has also publicly supported their relationship. Martin and Paltrow were married for a decade and share two children, Apple and Moses. They announced their separation in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016 but have remained amicable co-parents.
Since Johnson and Martin started dating, Paltrow and Johnson have developed a strong friendship, contributing to a modern family dynamic. The pairs have been seen together socially, including a beach outing in the Hamptons in 2019, and Martin was even included in Paltrow’s honeymoon festivities after her marriage to Brad Falchuk in 2018. Johnson also joined the family on a skiing trip in Aspen that same year.
