Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are responding to speculation about their relationship status. A representative for Johnson confirmed to Fox News Digital that the couple is still together after seven years, stating, “The reports are not true. They are happily together.”
The “Madame Web” actress and the Coldplay frontman maintain a private relationship, but they were recently seen together at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. in June, where Johnson was there to support Martin during his band’s performance. A source shared that their relationship is in a good place, noting, “They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on,” and confirming that the couple is “going strong.”
Johnson, 34, and Martin, 47, ignited engagement rumors in 2020 after dating since 2017. In a previous interview with Elle U.K., Johnson reflected on their relationship, emphasizing the importance of their privacy. “We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,” she explained.
When discussing how they keep their relationship low-profile, Johnson mentioned, “Most of the partying takes place inside my house.”
Johnson’s father, actor Don Johnson, has shown support for Martin, while Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, has also expressed her approval of Johnson. Martin was previously married to Paltrow for a decade, and together they share two children, Apple and Moses. The pair announced their separation in 2014, coining the term “conscious uncoupling,” and finalized their divorce in 2016, remaining amicable ex-spouses.
Paltrow and Johnson have developed a close relationship, forming a modern family dynamic since Johnson began dating Martin. The two families have enjoyed outings together, including a beach day in the Hamptons in 2019, as well as a family ski trip in Aspen, Colorado, that same year. Martin even joined Paltrow on her honeymoon in the Maldives after she married Brad Falchuk in September 2018.
