Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are addressing speculation surrounding their relationship status. After being together for seven years, a representative for Johnson confirmed to Fox News Digital that the couple has no plans to split.
“The reports are not true,” said the representative. “They are happily together.”
The “Madame Web” actress and Coldplay frontman maintain a low profile regarding their relationship but were recently seen together at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. in June, where Johnson was there to support Martin as his band headlined the event. A source informed People that their relationship is in a good place.
“They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on,” the insider revealed, adding that the couple is “going strong.”
The couple has been dating since 2017, and rumors of their engagement surfaced in 2020. Johnson, 34, has previously described her relationship with the “Fix You” singer, 47, as content but private. In an interview with Elle U.K., she noted that while they occasionally go out, they enjoy spending quiet time at home.
“Most of the partying takes place inside my house,” Johnson mentioned when discussing their efforts to keep their relationship private.
Johnson’s father, actor Don Johnson, has voiced his respect for Martin, and the singer’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, has also shown support for Johnson. Martin was married to Paltrow for ten years, and they share two children, Apple and Moses. The couple announced their separation as a “conscious uncoupling” in 2014, finalizing their divorce in 2016, but they have remained amicable.
Paltrow and Johnson have developed a friendly relationship, contributing to a modern family dynamic since Johnson began dating Martin. The two women, along with their partners, were spotted enjoying time together in the Hamptons in 2019. Martin also joined Paltrow on her honeymoon in the Maldives following her marriage to Brad Falchuk in September 2018, and Johnson participated in a family ski trip to Aspen, Colorado, that same year.
