The music industry is facing a troubling development as several dates from rising singer-songwriter d4vd’s US and European tours have been removed from ticketing platforms. This comes amid an ongoing investigation into the discovery of the decomposed body of a teenage girl in a Los Angeles impounded vehicle, reportedly linked to the artist.
While authorities have yet to implicate d4vd, born David Anthony Burke, in the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the situation has led to significant tour cancellations. Celeste was reported missing last year, and her body was recently found inside a Tesla tied to d4vd. As the investigation continues, Burke’s representatives have remained silent on the matter, and law enforcement has not publicly confirmed the car’s ownership.
Key performances, including a scheduled appearance in San Francisco and a Grammy Museum event in Los Angeles, were canceled, with both removed from online ticketing listings. Many European tour stops, such as Norway, have also been canceled, although some events in Sweden, France, and Poland remain available for fans.
Houston-native d4vd has garnered a Gen Z following with a unique blend of indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop. He broke into the mainstream with his viral TikTok hit “Romantic Homicide,” which reached high ranks on Billboard charts. His debut album “Withered,” released in April, has been supported by Darkroom and Interscope.
An anonymous representative noted that d4vd is cooperating with authorities. However, the circumstances surrounding the vehicle’s impoundment and the singer’s possible connection remain unclear. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office noted that Celeste’s body was “severely decomposed,” and her cause of death is still undetermined.
The investigation remains a focus as authorities seek answers in this unsettling case, leaving the future of d4vd’s tour and reputation uncertain.
