Cyclones Dominate Red Wolves: Milestone Win for Coach Campbell

Iowa State showcased a commanding performance against Arkansas State this past Saturday, winning decisively with a score of 52-7. The No. 20 Cyclones (3-0) dominated the game, outgaining the Red Wolves 490 yards to 182. A total of six different players scored touchdowns for Iowa State, highlighting their offensive depth.

In the final moments of the game, Aidan Flora capped off the scoring with a rushing touchdown that brought the score to 52-7. Flora, a true freshman from ADM, proved his worth by making several impactful plays during the game.

Arkansas State managed to end the shutout with just under five minutes remaining, thanks to a 27-yard touchdown pass from Timmy McClain to Hunter Summers. However, it was not enough to turn the tide against a dominant Iowa State team.

The Cyclones’ performance included a strong showing from their defense, which forced turnovers and kept Arkansas State’s offense in check throughout the game. Iowa State’s Rocco Becht contributed significantly with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown before resting in the second half.

Following this victory, head coach Matt Campbell achieved a notable milestone, tying with Dan McCarney for the most wins in Iowa State’s history at 56.

Next week, the Cyclones are set to begin Big 12 Conference play against Houston, marking the first meeting between the two teams on the football field. Iowa State’s kickoff time and television designation for the match have yet to be announced.

As Iowa State celebrates this win, the Hawkeyes are on a bye week after their recent game against Minnesota, with their next matchup scheduled against Ohio State on October 5. Football fans in Iowa are gearing up for an exciting weekend as tailgating festivities commence across the state.
