Cyberpunk 2077’s Next Chapter: What Does Patch 2.3 Hold?

CD Projekt Red has surprised fans with the announcement of a new update, patch 2.3, for Cyberpunk 2077, signaling that the game is far from finished. The update is being led personally by Paweł Sasko, the Associate Game Director for Cyberpunk 2, who recently shared the news on social media, expressing enthusiasm for what’s to come.

While CD Projekt has not yet detailed the contents of patch 2.3, anticipation is building following the success of patch 2.2 released in December 2024. That previous update, developed alongside partner Virtuos, introduced enhanced customization options and increased the frequency of character Johnny Silverhand’s appearances, as well as unveiled new secrets for players to explore. Fans are hopeful that patch 2.3 could further enrich the game with new quests and characters.

This announcement accompanies the recent launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Nintendo Switch 2, and it coincides with the confirmation that development for Cyberpunk 2 has entered its pre-production phase, although the anticipated release is not expected until late 2030 or early 2031.

As Cyberpunk 2077 celebrates its five-year milestone, it continues to evolve, promising players new experiences and content. With this ongoing support from CD Projekt, the community remains engaged, looking forward to what’s next in night city.
