Hanoi – On July 11, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Thanh visited significant cultural and historical sites in France, including the Ho Chi Minh Space, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Co Loa Heritage Exhibition. Her visit coincided with the 50th meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) General Assembly.

During her time in Montreuil, Nguyen Thi Thanh paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Space, where she reflected on his revolutionary journey and the priceless documentation of his life in France. She emphasized the importance of this site as a cultural landmark that embodies President Ho Chi Minh’s pursuit of independence and freedom, which continues to inspire people today.

In her remarks, Thanh highlighted the responsibility of both current and future generations to protect and promote Ho Chi Minh’s legacy, fostering an understanding of history that is crucial for cultivating patriotism and ambition among the youth. She recognized the strong bond between Montreuil and Vietnam, noting that it represents one of the best-preserved testaments to President Ho Chi Minh’s impact in France.

Deputy Mayor of Montreuil, Florian Vignillon, echoed her sentiments by labeling President Ho Chi Minh as a significant symbol of the struggle for independence and a source of inspiration globally.

Additionally, Thanh’s visit to the Thang Long Citadel and Co Loa Heritage Exhibition in Provins was marked by her gratitude towards the local authorities for their support in hosting the exhibition, which she deemed essential for enhancing local-to-local cooperation between Vietnam and France. She urged further collaboration between Provins and Vietnamese localities like Ninh Binh and Hue in cultural heritage protection.

Earlier, on July 10, Vice Chairwoman Thanh engaged in discussions with French NA Vice-President Nadège Abomangoli and met with Bruno Fuchs, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French NA. She affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening its comprehensive strategic partnership with France and reported positive developments in legislative cooperation, reinforcing the ties between the nations.

This visit not only reflects the ongoing collaboration between Vietnam and France but also serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of historical figures like Ho Chi Minh in bridging cultures and aspirations. The commitment to cultural heritage preservation and mutual learning is a hopeful sign for the future of bilateral relations.
