Carnival Cruise Line has taken decisive action against multiple passengers by permanently banning them following a violent altercation aboard the Carnival Sunrise during a recent four-night cruise to the Bahamas. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 7, just after the ship had left Half Moon Cay, Carnival’s private island.

The brawl erupted on the Lido Deck near the complimentary pizzeria, where many guests had gathered after returning from their shore excursions. Eyewitness video footage reveals a chaotic scene with passengers throwing chairs and yelling, prompting others to flee the area for safety. Carnival’s security team quickly intervened, separating the individuals involved and detaining them.

One passenger was reportedly placed under 24-hour surveillance in their stateroom for the remainder of the voyage. While it’s unclear whether this person disembarked in Nassau on June 8 or remained on the ship until its return to Miami on June 9, Carnival confirmed that all participants in the brawl are now prohibited from sailing with the cruise line in the future.

This incident is reminiscent of a previous confrontation in April 2025 at the Galveston terminal, where a large fight led to over two dozen passengers being banned, along with felony charges for one individual who assaulted an elderly guest.

Carnival Cruise Line has reiterated its dedication to ensuring guest safety by distributing letters to staterooms that emphasize its zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behavior. Passengers who engage in such activities face significant consequences, including fines, confinement, removal from the ship, and permanent bans, underscoring the cruise line’s commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.

This proactive approach not only aims to safeguard passengers but also reinforces the cruise line’s commitment to providing a fun and secure vacation experience, allowing travelers to enjoy their time at sea without fear of violence or disruptions.
