Crowe Says Steve Irwin Would Be Proud of Robert Irwin on DWTS

Russell Crowe recently shared that the late Steve Irwin would have been “so impressed” with his son, Robert Irwin, during his stint on Dancing with the Stars. In an interview with the New York Times, Crowe, a long-time friend of the Irwin family, commented on Steve’s lack of musical rhythm, humorously noting that he could turn a tambourine into a “deadly weapon.”

Despite Steve’s shortcomings in the musical department, Robert has demonstrated remarkable talent on the show, successfully reaching the finals alongside his partner, Witney Carson. Crowe expressed that he believes Steve would admire Robert’s strength and poise on the dance floor, showcasing a different form of artistry than his father.

Robert, who was only two and a half years old when Steve, the beloved Crocodile Hunter, tragically passed away in 2006, has been dedicated to honoring his father’s legacy. He expressed his commitment to carry on Steve’s passion for environmental advocacy, stating that he never anticipated doing so through dance. Robert added, “I don’t know what dad would say if he were here, but I think he’d be pretty stoked!”

This connection between Robert’s achievements and his father’s enduring legacy serves as a testament to the influence Steve Irwin continues to have on his family’s mission and the hearts of fans everywhere.
