Crimson Tide Crush Tigers: Alabama Secures Historic Homecoming Victory

The Alabama Crimson Tide hosted the Missouri Tigers for homecoming this Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

In the first quarter, Alabama’s defense set the tone early by stopping Missouri on a critical third and 18, forcing a punt. The Tide took over on their own 21-yard line and moved downfield with a notable play from Kendrick Law, who gained significant yardage for a first down. However, a couple of setbacks led to a field goal attempt by Graham Nicholson, who successfully converted a 47-yard kick, putting Alabama ahead 3-0 with 8:50 left in the quarter.

Alabama’s defense continued to pressure Missouri, resulting in another punt after a halted drive. The Tide offense then began their second drive, but faced a quick three-and-out. Missouri’s attempt to establish momentum also ended up in a punt after a short possession.

The Tide took over at their own 7-yard line but could not find success, resulting in yet another punt. The first quarter concluded with Alabama leading 3-0.

As the second quarter began, Missouri struggled to gain ground and punted once again. Alabama took over at their own 48-yard line, and after a series of plays, including a catch by Germie Bernard, they managed to position themselves for another scoring opportunity. Nicholson kicked a 39-yard field goal, extending Alabama’s lead to 6-0 with 4:38 left before halftime.

Missouri’s fortunes declined further when quarterback Drew Pyne entered the game due to Brady Cook’s injury. Pyne’s drive ended abruptly with an interception by Malachi Moore, giving Alabama another chance to score. The Tide capitalized on the turnover, with Miller rushing for a 3-yard touchdown, making it 13-0 with 1:54 remaining in the second quarter.

Missouri attempted a lengthy 59-yard field goal just before halftime, but the attempt was unsuccessful, and the teams went into halftime with the score at 13-0 in favor of Alabama.

In the third quarter, Jalen Milroe showcased his rushing ability, covering 43 yards on a key play, and soon after scored his 12th rushing touchdown of the season, pushing Alabama’s lead to 20-0. Alabama continued to dominate, quickly forcing another turnover with a pick-off, and then scored again with an 11-yard run from Miller, widening the gap to 27-0 with 4:28 left in the quarter.

As the third quarter ended, both teams experienced unsuccessful drives, keeping the score stagnant at 27-0.

In the fourth quarter, Alabama’s offense remained strong, starting with a run for a first down and another touchdown by Haynes on a 35-yard rush, extending the lead to 34-0 with 11:06 remaining in the game.

The final score was Alabama 34, Missouri 0.
