Star Indian cricketer Rinku Singh took a significant step in his personal life by getting engaged to Member of Parliament Priya Saroj on June 8. The private ceremony took place at The Centrum Hotel in Lucknow, attended by family, friends, and notable figures from both politics and cricket.
Prior to the engagement, Rinku visited the Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple in Bulandshahr with his family to seek blessings. The couple arrived at the venue dressed in coordinated white and pink outfits, setting a joyous tone for the intimate gathering.
The event featured an elaborately decorated Fulcurn Hall, providing an elegant backdrop for celebrations attended by cricket and political luminaries, such as former cricketers Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla, along with prominent political representatives like Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and former actress Jaya Bachchan. The engagement, which included a heartwarming moment captured in a video where the couple was seen holding hands, welcomed around 300 invited guests.
Guests enjoyed a specially curated all-vegetarian menu inspired by traditional Lucknowi cuisine, featuring a mix of regional and international dishes. Some highlights included paneer tikka, kadai paneer, and the unique welcome drink, kuhara, a coconut-based specialty. Rinku’s preferences were reflected in the menu, ensuring a personal touch to the culinary offerings.
Security was prioritised during the engagement, with tight measures in place, ensuring a safe environment for all attendees.
On the cricket field, Rinku Singh’s performance during IPL 2025 with the Kolkata Knight Riders was modest, scoring 206 runs in 14 matches. However, he remains an integral part of India’s T20I squad, showcasing his potential with an impressive average of 46.09 in T20 internationals.
