The National Cricket Women’s League is gearing up for an exciting conclusion to its final round of pool games, starting tomorrow for players from Suva and Nadi, with the finals set for next Saturday. The Suva competition will unfold at Albert Park, while the Nadi competition will take place at Denarau Oval.

Currently, the defending champions, Nausori Majidez, lead pool 1 after successfully winning both of their matches in December 2025. They are scheduled to face Moce in their last pool game tomorrow. Meanwhile, last season’s runner-up, Black Ducks, sit atop pool 2 and will compete against the Ono-i-Lau Sixers this week to decide the top team as the pool rounds close.

In the Nadi Women’s League, the Saunivalu Hurricanes and Nadi Development will clash this week, vying for the top position headed into the finals next week. The two best sides from the Suva and Nadi Leagues will come together in an East vs West local derby at Denarau Oval on January 24.

Cricket Fiji CEO, Sitiveni Rokoro, announced that a national U19 women’s trial is scheduled for next Wednesday at Albert Park to select athletes for the World Cup qualifier in Papua New Guinea from April 6-15, 2026. Players aged between 15 and 18 years are encouraged to attend the trial at 11 am.

Rokoro outlined key objectives for Cricket Fiji this year, including securing land for a cricket facility and office, enhancing the team’s global ranking, and bolstering the domestic competition framework. These initiatives reflect a commitment to fostering the sport, and with such dedication, the future of Cricket Fiji appears promising.
