Jaclyn Sienna India launched her travel concierge service, Sienna Charles, in 2008 with a goal of creating an exclusive experience for high-net-worth clients, despite starting with no actual customers. Over the years, her strategy of “faking it until making it” has proven successful. Today, she serves an elite clientele, including former President George W. Bush and celebrities such as Mariah Carey.
India’s clients typically earn over $100 million annually and have access to numerous resources. She believes her value lies not in networking prowess but in providing genuine care and attention. Drawing on her previous experience as a server, she understands what clients appreciate and emphasizes the importance of personal connections.
Sienna Charles has cultivated a vast network of over 2,000 relationships within the hospitality sector, enabling India to design tailored travel and dining experiences. She believes that while her clients have their own visions, they often lack the means to fulfill them. Her unique ability to interpret their desires and deliver customized experiences sets her apart.
Rather than focusing merely on luxury, India prioritizes the authenticity of experiences. For instance, she prefers unique offerings over popular three-Michelin-star restaurants and has arranged extraordinary events like a candlelit dinner in Versailles and a brunch on the Arc de Triomphe.
India also highlights the value of connecting clients with interesting personalities, having previously arranged meals with the Hermes and Fendi families. However, she acknowledges that some wishes are simpler; for example, when President Bush visited Ethiopia, she provided familiar comforts like peanut butter and non-alcoholic beer.
Her commitment to genuine care extends beyond high-end services, illustrating that the luxury travel experience is not solely about opulence but also about creating memorable and authentic moments for her clients.
