CPSC issues nationwide recalls for dressers and play yards over tip-over and suffocation risks

Two products sold on Amazon have been recalled nationwide due to significant risks of injury or death to children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Baituo Innovation Technology Co. Ltd., operating under the name Romorgniz, is recalling select Fabric 12- and 13-Drawer Dressers. The CPSC flagged these items over concerns of tip-over and entrapment risks. In a related recall, Guangzhou Tinger Trading Co. Ltd., doing business as Anna Queen, has also pulled back certain Play Yards due to potential suffocation and entrapment hazards.

The CPSC highlighted that the dressers do not comply with mandatory safety standards specified in the STURDY Act, which demands that clothing storage units maintain stability when not anchored to a wall, thereby reducing the risk of hazardous tip-over incidents.

The agency explained that if misused, the dressers could lead to serious accidents, including injuries or fatalities for children. Similarly, the Anna Queen play yards have been found to violate safety guidelines. The CPSC noted that infants could potentially become trapped under or between the mattress and the sides of the play yard, leading to severe injury or even deadly suffocation.

The details of the recalled items are as follows:

– Romorgniz Fabric 12- and 13-Drawer Dressers: Approximately 1,980 units have been recalled. Model numbers include R99MWM12CHMW and R99M9C4CLHW. These dressers feature a wooden top and metal frame, kommen in colors like rustic brown, pink, white, and black. The dimensions of the dressers are 52 x 12 x 35 inches for the 12-drawer model and 35 x 11 x 55 inches for the 13-drawer model. They were sold on Amazon.com between July and October 2025, with retail prices around $140 for the 13-drawer and $80 for the 12-drawer model.

– Play Yards: Roughly 70 units have been recalled, identified by model number P700, with a production date noted on the packaging as 202503. These play yards feature black fabric sides with mesh panels and are decorated with a multi-colored print of bear faces and paws. They were available on Amazon.com starting in March 2025, priced between $100 and $110.

Fortunately, as of November 20, there have been no reported incidents or injuries linked to either product.

In light of the recalls, the CPSC urges consumers to immediately cease using the dressers if they are not secured to a wall and to place them out of reach of children. The commission emphasizes that federal law bans the sale of items subject to recall and that adherence to mandatory stability standards is essential for child safety.

Peter Feldman, acting chairman of the CPSC, expressed optimism by stating, “CPSC has made great strides in the past 10 years to minimize these hazards and save lives.”

For those affected, the CPSC recommends contacting Romorgniz for specific disposal instructions to receive a refund for the dressers, while users of the play yards should immediately discontinue use and reach out to Anna Queen for a refund. Specific instructions on destroying the play yard and submitting proof for refunds have been communicated to consumers.
