Cousins’ Clutch Comeback Sends Falcons Soaring Over Eagles

Kirk Cousins delivered a thrilling game-winning drive late Monday night in Philadelphia, stunning the Eagles.

Cousins engineered a rapid 70-yard touchdown drive in just 65 seconds, elevating the Atlanta Falcons to a 22-21 victory over the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. After the Falcons fell behind by six points with just 1:39 remaining, following an Eagles field goal, Cousins led the team downfield and connected with Drake London for a 7-yard touchdown, propelling the Falcons ahead and securing their first win of the season.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 22 of 28 passes for 170 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. He also contributed 85 yards on 13 carries along with another rushing touchdown. Saquon Barkley amassed 95 yards on 22 carries, while DeVonta Smith recorded 76 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. The Eagles had an opportunity to run down the clock during their final offensive series but opted for a field goal in the final two minutes, which kept the Falcons in contention.

In the victory, Cousins finished 20 of 29 for 241 yards with two touchdown passes. This game marked his first win with the Falcons after joining the team this past offseason. Additionally, Bijan Robinson rushed for 97 yards on 14 carries, and Darnell Mooney caught three passes for 88 yards and a touchdown.
