Cooper Koch’s Bold Admission Shakes Up Netflix’s ‘Monsters’ Reception!

Nearly a month after the premiere of “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” on Netflix, breakout star Cooper Koch has confirmed that he did not use a prosthetic in the series’ widely discussed shower scene. During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” with host Andy Cohen, Koch stated, “Mine was not a prosthetic,” as Cohen highlighted Hollywood’s “top five most iconic full-frontal moments.”

Koch playfully responded to Cohen’s follow-up question about his endowment, saying, “Well, hung,” with a smile.

The 28-year-old actor, who previously appeared nude in the 2022 indie horror film “Swallowed,” portrays Erik Menendez in “Monsters,” which quickly reached the top of the Netflix charts after its September 19 debut. The nine-episode show, co-created by Ryan Murphy, recounts the real-life 1989 murders of multimillionaires José and Kitty Menendez at the hands of their sons, Lyle and Erik.

The Menendez brothers were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 1996, claiming they killed their parents to escape years of sexual abuse. Koch expressed his belief in the brothers’ accounts, stating, “I believe both of them,” after a recent visit to Lyle and Erik, alongside Kim Kardashian.

While Koch is vocal about his views, co-star Nicholas Alexander Chavez has chosen to keep his thoughts on the controversial case private. Chavez remarked that he has reached a personal interpretation of the situation but prefers not to share it publicly.

In a critical response from prison, Erik Menendez has described “Monsters” as a “dishonest portrayal” of their story, although he admitted he has not seen the series. In defense of his work, Ryan Murphy remarked that the show could be seen as “the best thing that has happened to the Menendez brothers in 30 years.”
