Temperatures in metro Detroit are expected to stabilize this week, returning to a more typical range for the season. Following a stretch of extreme heat, the mercury is predicted to hover in the mid-80s, which is considered normal for this time of year.
Meteorologist Steve Freitag from the National Weather Service in White Lake indicated that Monday will kick off the week with partly cloudy skies and a high of around 79 degrees, followed by sunny conditions on Tuesday with temperatures reaching the low 80s.
Midweek, Wednesday stands out as the main day for showers, yet temperatures will still hold steady in the mid-80s. The forecast for Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11, suggests a return to sunny weather with highs in the upper 80s. However, those with weekend plans should be aware of potential rain and storms on Saturday, July 12, which could dampen outdoor activities.
Freitag advised outdoor enthusiasts to stay informed about the weather, especially boaters, as storms could pose significant risks. Sunday, July 13, might offer a reprieve with partly cloudy skies and temperatures again in the high 80s but with an accompanying chance of rain.
Overall, despite some potential disruptions, the weather pattern offers a much-needed respite from recent extreme heat, promising more comfortable conditions for outdoor plans throughout the week.
