Buc-ee’s is set to expand its footprint in Georgia with the opening of its largest location in the state on July 1. The new travel center, which spans 74,000 square feet in Glynn County, will boast over 120 gas pumps and create more than 200 jobs for the local community. This marks Buc-ee’s third location in Georgia, reflecting the growing popularity of the brand known for its clean restrooms and extensive snack selection.

In related news, EV charging infrastructure is also expanding across the Southeast. EG America recently inaugurated an EV charging station at a Cumberland Farms in Orange Beach, Alabama, thanks to funding support from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). The station’s construction was partially funded through ADECA’s EV infrastructure program, which provides grants covering up to 80% of development costs. Maurice Mallard, district sales manager for EG America, emphasized the added value this station brings to their store, allowing electric vehicle users to conveniently charge their cars while enjoying their time in the area.

On another note, Wawa has officially launched its first store in Indiana, with plans to open between 8 to 12 additional stores each year for the next five years. This ambitious expansion is expected to yield a total of 60 new stores across the state, with Wawa focusing on markets in Indianapolis and beyond by 2025.

Meanwhile, Sheetz has aspirations of reaching 1,000 locations by 2027, recently opening two stores in Ohio, celebrating with community engagement through food donations. Royal Farms is also making its mark with a new location in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, set to open on June 9, featuring a 24/7 service, fuel dispensers, and a car wash.

In a noteworthy comeback, Foxtrot is reopening its first new-to-industry store today in Chicago after a brief closure last year, with a fresh focus on community engagement and customer experience.

This flurry of new openings and expansions among popular convenience and travel retail chains reflects a robust growth trend and shows a commitment to enhancing service options for customers, especially in the evolving landscape of electric vehicle usage and community-oriented convenience services.
