Compass has appointed Soham Bhonsle as the new head of investor relations, a move announced by the brokerage firm on Wednesday.
With over ten years of experience in the housing sector, Bhonsle was previously a senior analyst at BTIG. He has also worked with Morgan Stanley and Susquehanna International Group, where he began his career in housing as a research assistant.
Kalani Reelitz, Compass’s chief financial officer, praised Bhonsle’s reputation in the investor community, stating that he was sought for his ability to make an immediate impact. Reelitz emphasized that Bhonsle’s expertise would be crucial in effectively conveying the Compass story to investors and building confidence in the company’s long-term strategy.
Bhonsle’s appointment comes at a time when Compass has experienced notable growth in revenue, transactions, and agent count, even amid a challenging housing market. In the second quarter of 2024, the company reported increases of 14% in revenue and 11.4% in transaction volume compared to the previous year.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Compass, Bhonsle remarked that the role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to a company leading in real estate innovation. He looks forward to using his experience to help Compass achieve sustained growth and deliver value to its shareholders.
