Milwaukee officials announced that 7-year-old Jamal White, who had been reported missing after an armed abduction on July 11, has been found alive and is safe. The Milwaukee Police Department confirmed the boy’s recovery in a statement on the evening of July 12, expressing gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search.

White was taken from his home near 6200 West Hustis Street by an unidentified man in a black face mask, who forced him into a white Jeep Renegade. Following the Amber Alert issued shortly after his disappearance, family, friends, and community members fanned out across the city in search of the child. A sizable gathering at Carmen Park organized efforts to distribute flyers and investigate any possible sightings of White.

Nikki Harrington, a cousin of the boy, expressed immense relief upon hearing the news of his safe return and noted that he was being assessed at a hospital for precautionary measures. Harrington thanked the community for their collective efforts, emphasizing that their diligence made a difference in bringing Jamal back home.

The police are actively investigating the case and announced the arrest of three men connected to the abduction. Community members were deeply engaged in the search, motivated by concern for their children and a desire to prevent similar incidents. Many, including relatives of other victims, highlighted the community’s resolve to stay vigilant and protect their neighborhoods.

As Jamal White is reunited with his family, his story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of community support in times of crisis. The resilience of those rallying around a common cause highlights the importance of collective action in ensuring the safety of children in our neighborhoods.
