Police in Santa Monica are seeking assistance from the public as they investigate a repeat burglary at Amai Coffee, located at 1701 Pico Blvd. Early on Monday morning, just after 4:30 a.m., two men were caught on surveillance video breaking into the café by shattering the front glass door. While no items were stolen during the incident, the damage to property is estimated to exceed $1,000.

This break-in marks the second time Amai Coffee has been targeted this year, following a similar incident previously reported. Interestingly, another neighboring business, Dr. T House, was also burglarized around the same timeframe, indicating a troubling trend in the area.

The suspects fled the scene in a white or silver sedan. One suspect is described as a male of average build, dressed in a black sweater, face mask, blue jeans, and black shoes.

Authorities emphasize the importance of community vigilance and are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the suspects. This call for public assistance highlights the community’s role in enhancing safety and security in local neighborhoods.

Engaging the public in crime prevention can foster a sense of community solidarity, bringing residents together to protect local businesses. Hopefully, these efforts will lead to a resolution in the series of unsettling incidents affecting small businesses in Santa Monica.
