Comcast and Apple Team Up to Stream MLS Games for Free!

Comcast is enhancing its collaboration with Apple by providing Xfinity TV and Internet customers access to select Major League Soccer (MLS) matches without the necessity of an Apple TV Plus or MLS Season Pass subscription. This initiative builds upon an earlier agreement where the MLS Season Pass was integrated into Comcast’s Xfinity X1 program guide and Xfinity Stream app.

Starting Sunday, May 18, customers will be able to enjoy weekly MLS games for free through the X1 platform and Xfinity Stream app as part of Apple’s “Sunday Night Soccer” series. These matches will be available on Sundays, along with MLS 360, a dynamic show that offers bilingual coverage of ongoing soccer matches.

Vito Forlenza, the Vice President of Sports Entertainment at Comcast, noted the positive customer response since the partnership launched earlier this year. He expressed enthusiasm about introducing more customers to the vibrant soccer season through these free offerings, reinforcing Comcast’s commitment to enhancing value for its users.

In addition to catching the games via the X1 guide or Xfinity Stream, customers can easily find MLS Season Pass matches by speaking “MLS” into their voice-activated remote controls. This accessibility to soccer content reflects a broader trend of integrating sports programming into traditional cable services, making it easier for fans to stay connected.

This collaboration not only highlights the growing importance of sports on streaming platforms but also demonstrates a commitment to enriching the viewing experience for home audiences. By removing barriers to accessing popular sporting events, Comcast is paving the way for more fans to engage with MLS and enjoy the thrill of live soccer.
