Communities surrounding Columbus are gearing up for a vibrant celebration of pride this June, as numerous suburban pride events are planned throughout the month. These gatherings promise a range of activities from live music and food trucks to resource fairs and crafts, creating a festive atmosphere aimed at celebration and solidarity.

The Columbus Pride Festival, renowned as the second-largest pride festival in the Midwest, is set against the backdrop of this year’s theme, “United in Power.” Yet, it is not just the city that is creating inclusive spaces; various suburbs are hosting distinctive LGBTQ+ events aimed at bringing communities together.

In Worthington, the month kicks off with the largest pride celebration yet on June 1 at Old Worthington’s Sunday Funday event, featuring booths from LGBTQ+ organizations, craft activities, and live music provided by Columbus Pride Bands.

Delaware will host its Ohio Pride Festival on June 7 at Boardman Arts Park, featuring food, entertainment, and a variety of vendors that will include performances from artists and a magician. Simultaneously, the fifth-annual Hilliard Pride will occur at Station Park, offering a platform for local businesses and LGBTQ+ organizations.

Westerville will also celebrate on June 7, presenting the Westerville Pride Festival that promises a lively mix of food, local artists, and community engagement. The following week, Rainbow UA in Upper Arlington is set for its event on June 8, promising music, a guest speaker, and an accompanying pet contest to bring an endearing touch to the festivities.

Later in June, Grove City will hold its Pride Fest from Town Center Park on the 21st, which includes performances from local artists and resource opportunities for attendees. Other events, such as Gahanna Pride on June 26 and Granville Pride on June 28, showcase the community’s commitment to celebrating diversity across a wide geographical range.

The spirit of inclusion and festivities throughout the suburbs of Columbus highlights the strength and unity of the LGBTQ+ community in Ohio. Engaging activities and local participation make these events a perfect avenue for everyone to celebrate pride and support local businesses, fostering a sense of belonging and community connection.

These pride events not only create joyful experiences but also promote understanding and support for LGBTQ+ rights, proving that love and unity can thrive in every corner of the community.
