Colin Farrell has been making waves this week in New York City as he promotes HBO’s new Batman spinoff miniseries, The Penguin. The seasoned actor showcased his impeccable style by donning tailored, dark ensembles throughout his appearances. On The Tonight Show, he wore a tailored charcoal blazer paired with a black tee and slim black trousers. He transitioned to a sleek look on Good Morning America with a smoke-hued cashmere turtleneck and slate-gray pleated slacks. Each time, he slicked his hair back, which hinted at a sophisticated flair. However, his choice of burnished caramel-brown wingtip boots did not quite align with the monochromatic theme of his outfits.
While some may appreciate the color of the shoes, they don’t complement outfits in shades of blue, black, or gray. Regardless of personal preference, many agree that footwear should harmonize with the overall look. Even though Farrell possesses the charm to make any outfit work, the footwear choice raised eyebrows.
However, at the New York premiere of The Penguin at Lincoln Center, Farrell redeemed himself. He attended the event with his teenage son, Henry, and both wore stylish black Dolce & Gabbana suits. The elder opted for a double-breasted pinstripe suit while Henry sported a satin-lapel tuxedo, with dark shoes that completed their polished looks. The coordinated outfits perfectly matched the premiere’s black carpet, proving that sometimes everything flows together beautifully.
