A cold wave is expected to sweep through the Daejeon and Chungnam areas on the morning of the 25th, significantly dropping temperatures. According to the Daejeon Regional Meteorological Administration, the lowest temperatures in the region are predicted to range from -5 to -1 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperatures will be between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius.

Specifically, the lowest temperatures are expected to reach -5 degrees in Gyeryong and Cheonan, -4 degrees in Gongju, Nonsan, Geumsan, Cheongyang, and Buyeo, -3 degrees in Daejeon and Hongseong, and between -2 and -1 degrees in Asan, Yesan, Seosan, Dangjin, Seocheon, and Taean.

For the highest temperatures, Cheonan and Asan are forecasted to see highs of 1 degree, while Gongju, Gyeryong, Yesan, Cheongyang, Seosan, Taean, Dangjin, and Hongseong are expected to reach 2 degrees. Daejeon, Nonsan, Geumsan, Buyeo, and Seocheon may record highs of 3 degrees, and Boryeong could see 4 degrees.

Additionally, strong winds are predicted to blow over the central West Sea, with speeds ranging from 6 to 21 m/s and wave heights of 1.0 to 5.0 meters. The National Institute of Environmental Research predicts that air quality will remain at moderate levels for fine dust and good for ultrafine dust in the region. The meteorological agency also mentioned that snow may fall in some areas later in the afternoon, adding a touch of winter magic to the chilly day ahead.

As the season transitions into winter, residents can prepare to bundle up and enjoy the beauty of the season, as festive decorations, like the large Christmas tree installed at the Art & Science center in Daejeon’s Yuseong District, bring holiday cheer amid the cold temperatures.
